Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)

Community Supported Agriculture, or CSA, consists of a community of individuals who pledge support to a farm operation so the farmland becomes, either largely or spiritually, the community’s farm, with the grower and the consumer providing mutual support and sharing the risks and benefits of food production.  Members or shareholders of the farm pledge in advance to cover the anticipated costs of the farm operation and the farmer’s salary.  In return, they receive shares in the farm’s bounty throughout the growing season, as well as the satisfaction gained from reconnection to the land.

Our CSA at Hendy Hollow Organic Farm runs 22 weeks beginning in early June until the end of October.  The cost of a share is $520.00.  A share should easily feed 2-4 people for a week. This represents a large savings over Organic Produce purchased at retail. We are excited to announce that shares for 2012 will be enhanced with organic products from our sister company, Culinary Kiosk. There are a very limited number of shares available for each season, so shares are sold on a first come, first serve basis.  Pick-up days are Wednesdays at the farm in Pine City and Saturdays in Ithaca at the Ithaca Farmers’ Market.
